What Our Fair Play Certificate Means For You

KamaGames Receives Fair Play Certificate

We believe that poker is a game of skill and that by diving into the depths of the game, and really understanding it, your ability to master it (and as important – to beat others!) increases. In many ways, it is a sport - for the mind of course - that involves practicing and developing the right strategies.

Playing poker over the Internet, or through poker terminals, share a common element – both are forms of electronic gaming (eGaming).

One of the most common myths about eGaming is that the games aren't really random.   Someone loses 4 hands in a row – "it's a fix!!" a player wins their first game and loses every time they up their stakes – "it's a fix!!" even when the blackjack dealer gets blackjack "it's a fix!!"

Leading By Innovation

At KamaGames, we believe in constant innovation – we have to to keep our lead in the market of course but since early 2010, we have been one of the leading innovators in social casino gaming (things such as our lobby design, the raise bar, integrated chat, 3D table animations - to give a few examples), striving to ensure that each and every player that installs any of our games, has a fun, safe and fair gaming experience.

While the term 'random' is perceived more as an objective one, the opinion of fair play in poker definitely varies between players, but for many it can be down to the perception and the belief that they have been dealt random cards when a deck gets shuffled by the dealer at the table.

Here's a question... how many of you reading this have ever credited a big win to a great hand getting dealt? Now, how many of you have ever blamed a big loss on a bad shuffle? I think we would see a lot more hands in the air for the 2nd example wouldn't we...?

Obviously, both examples are completely random yet we consider them differently based on the end result, blaming the technology for "fixing" the hand so you lose. Did the same technology also "fix it" for you to win or was that your poker skills...?

So what's the reason for this very different perception?

Going back to the 'live poker' example'. Let's consider something for a moment. Think back to before you started playing poker on your phone, tablet or desktop device and instead picture the game of poker you would have played with some friends or in a casino. Usually, you had a small number of players, say five to nine, at the table. You had a dealer at the table so you could see the cards getting shuffled, randomly and fairly, before they were dealt. Your opponents were at the table with you so you could monitor that their cards were random and fair too.

The important thing here was that you had complete personal reassurance that every card getting dealt was fair and random because you could simply see it happening in front of you.

But it is not that simple and it can be very far off!

The random nature of which card you got dealt in that one individual game was actually incredibly complex. In fact, card shuffling in poker is one of the classic examples of random number generation stretching back to ancient times – if you can get your card shuffling right.

Now, consider the massive complexity when the game of five to nine players scales up to in excess of eighty million players. Mind boggling isn't it but KamaGames have been doing just that for years.

We have always strived to give our players a fun and fair gaming experience and are proud of our technology that powers the games they play. Our players are our top priority which is why KamaGames, and a few others, have spent significant time and money on making sure all of our games are built on fair play.

Incredibly Proud

A big area of focus for us is making sure our Random Number Generator (RNG) is absolutely perfect and so when we get a formal certification saying so we are needless to say incredibly proud.

We've recently announced to the press that the RNG used by Pokerist, Roulettist and Blackjack 21, has been formally certified as fair by an independent and leading company - iTech Labs - and is in line with the UK Gambling Commission standards. iTech Labs has vast industry experience in auditing and testing card shuffling for card games and scaling for roulette games and predominantly work with all of the real money operators but KamaGames really wanted to show just how fair our programs were and so we got in touch with iTech Labs.

The entire KamaGames group are incredibly proud of what we do and to also be among the leading advocates for fair play within social casino gaming industry. We are determined to continue to innovate and to make sure our players are getting the most fun experience in the most safe and fair environment possible.

Here's to playing fair.  See you at the tables!
