Mobile, Desktop and Tablet – Social games top performer

Current research suggests that mobile will be the front-runner for gaming in as little as two years. To be exact: the prediction is that mobile will overtake desktop by March 2017. The same research insinuates that levels of engagement on tablet have been surpassed by mobile's performance in the last quarter of 2014.

Mobile internet has been classed as one of the disruptive that will change our way of life, the way we do business and the global economy. As inexpensive mobile internet is made available more readily, the economic value attached to the capability of each device is astronomical. As more people invest in mobile, pockets of opportunity in different marketplaces will arise, that may bring about a range of challenges which will also need to be addressed.

With the variety of high speed internet connections becoming more and more prominent, it makes perfect sense that mobile gaming will become more and more established and sought after as the preferred medium to do everything from your banking, grocery shopping to gaming.

Desktop still has a strong presence in the gaming space but no one knows for how long, especially as businesses adapt their product and service offering to include mobile options; and make the roll out of mobile games and apps to download more readily available. I suppose there is something to be said about the user experiences being slightly different on mobile as opposed to desktop. There will always be gamers that will prefer gaming on desktop as opposed to gaming on mobile, but we're sure that this would be game-dependent (in terms of gameplay, required screen size etc.) and relative to personal experiences.

We live in a progressive world and as it stands, you can play games anywhere via a range of devices. Similarly the ranges of games made available are ever-changing and evolving to make them easily accessible to all people. Free-to-play games are becoming more popular – from the standard fantasy-themed games to free online slot games – not forgetting that many forms of social gaming, including social casino games, become ever more expansive through the help of social media.  Some of the social gaming reviews remain highly critical, however, as it's still quite a new addition to the gaming world, it's likely the games will be improved over time.

Mobile is growing and while desktop appears to be in the lead – it's only a matter of time before mobile conducts a coup, especially in the gaming space. Why not try some of KamaGames mobile games including Manchester United Social Roulette and Poker, Roulettist and Pokerist
