The Evolution of chat messengers

Life finds a way”, as Jeff Goldblum’s character said in Jurassic Park, is the perfect analogy for the evolution of mobile messaging services. People now share personal information and communicate differently via services such as these, which means their is a greater need for providers to create a more bespoke experience.

Although we might have once thought that it would only be what we traditionally considered social media (Facebook, Twitter, Google +) that would be in a state of constant flux, perhaps we should turn our focus to the mobile messenger service that we might have once taken for granted.

Mobile messaging services, unlike social media, still retains a sense of exclusivity due to the fact that we can control, with greater effect, who we interact with. There is still an inherent personal aspect to using instant messaging services that means when you send a message only the person who it was meant for will actually see it. More and more messaging service providers are evolving their product range to facilitate how end users will utilise their service.

For instance the BBC “Have Your Say” team set up their WhatsApp account in February and started adding it to their 'calls for action', such as forms underneath stories on the website and messages on Twitter encouraging people to get in touch. While Starbucks, one of the early adopters of WeChat, used the platform to engage with users by sending songs to people who contacted them via emoticon. And last but not least, we have developed Pokerist for Tango which allows users to partake in one of the most popular social games in the world. Users can easily join and play poker games on the go allowing them to gain experience with each hand.

But now, as our partnership with Tango attests, the way users now interact with mobile messaging services is rapidly evolving. Through our range of apps exclusive to Tango, users can access international Poker tournaments 24/7 while connecting with their friends and fellow Tango users. The range of in app games provided by Tango represents the combination of two of the most significant shifts in app usage by smartphone users.

With both messaging apps and social casino apps dominating App stores, creating an environment where audiences are provided offerings in one environment represents the next step for both platforms. Through our partnership with Tango, KamaGames is at the forefront of helping to spearhead the evolution of mobile messaging services from what we once traditionally thought of them.

Both Pokerist® & Roulettist for Tango are live across IOS and Android.
